Nabou Diop

She was born in 2019, and has completed first grade. She is growing up in a family with three children and is the youngest. They live together with their extended family. Neither parent attended school; her father left after grade 3. The father works in horticulture, and the mother sells detergent, buying it and reselling it at a higher price in the neighbourhood. Although Nabou is very shy, her mother describes her as an energetic and obedient child. She enjoys going to school and loves all subjects; she even attends extra lessons in the afternoons. She enjoys singing. She has many friends and enjoys playing with dolls and pretending to cook. When her mother needs something from the shop, Nabou goes to buy it. She dreams of having an orange backpack.
