Karim Doumbia

The 5th-grader boy lives in a family of five children, in a rented room. Karim is the 2nd child. Among his parents, his father went to school, finished high school, but was unable to graduate. They make ends meet as unskilled workers having odd jobs, the mother does housework and sometimes does hairdressing by braiding hair when needed. 4 children go to school, the grandmother helps them pay the school fees when she can. Karim has no textbooks, his school equipment is the minimum, 2 notebooks, a pen and a pencil. His favorite is mathematics, including geometry. At home, he helps clean the house. In his spare time, he plays soccer, his favorite team is Barcelona, and his favorite soccer player is Karim Benzema. He goes to karate twice a week, has a red belt, is good at it, they go to competitions. He has many friends, and in his spare time he makes bracelets with larger beads and tries to sell them. According to his mother, he is a serious, obedient boy, he doesn't loiter. He wants school supplies and school equipment. He is a good student, among the top 15 in his class of 80 students.
