Galon Sissao

The second grader girl lives with her father's extended family, in a family of seven children, she is the 4th child. The parents did not go to school. The father trades animal skins and sells them on the market, the mother is a housewife. Galon has no textbooks, her school equipment is the minimum, 2 notebooks, a pen, a pencil, a ragged little backpack. The family eats twice a day, the mother cooks once and this is divided into two meals, usually rice with vegetable sauce. Galon likes going to school, reading and drawing are her favourite subjects, but she is very sad that she doesn't have coloured pencils. At home, she is responsible for washing dishes and laundry. In her spare time, she likes to play jumping school. According to her mother, she is a smart child, she listens to her parents, she is obedient, she helps a lot at home, but she also plays a lot. She studies very well; she is among the top 10 in her class of 75. She would like to have school supplies, textbooks...
