Bekaye's father knows what life is: he has 16 children from three ex-wives. Bekaye lives with her mom's girlfriend even though his dad lives in the same yard. The girlfriend also has six children, so she took in the sixth-grade boy as the seventh. They live in a narrow, orderly courtyard, where even the outer walls have been plastered and colorfully painted. The father works for a telecommunications company, he pays for the school. Neither parent attended school. They eat once a day, rather sparingly. Bekaye is the 2nd best student in his class with an average of 8.25/10. He likes to learn a lot, his favorites are history, biology and geography. He likes to play soccer and his favorite team is the Mali national team. He would like to continue his education and one day go to university.
